Renault D12 Light 280

Medium command and communication vehicle on the Renault chassis

WISS has designed, manufactured and delivered a medium command and communication vehicle for the Mazovian Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Warsaw. The vehicle is built on Renault D 12 Light 280 (4x2). It features a Diesel engine that meets Euro 6 standard of a max. power of 206 kW (280 hp). Power is transmitted to the rear axle via a 6-speed semi-automatic gearbox (6+1). This is a single module, tiltable, 2-door, 2-seat (1+1) cab.

A superstructure was made of glass-reinforced plastics (GRP) and the external coat is additionally protected against heat and low temperatures. It features 3 equipment lockers closed with opening upwards GRP door, located at the bottom part of a superstructure, on the left side. The superstructure consists of two compartments. Compartment B (command part), where a control centre works, features 2 triple seats for 6 men in total. Compartment C (operators’ cab) has seats for 2 men and communication equipment.

There is a partition wall with door between compartment B and C. Entry to the command compartment is ensured by the door with a window located in the middle part of a superstructure, on its right side. A folding awning with attached side walls is installed over the door. Additional windows give some extra natural light. Two of them are on the left side and one beyond the door, on the right side.

Both compartments are heated independently of engine operation with a heating unit, which ensures separate temperature control.

The rear part of a vehicle includes an additional technical compartment where access is ensured by 2-leaf door.

Furthermore, the vehicle is equipped with, among others, two telescopic masts with pneumatic extension (8 and 10m) with a control light in the driver cab signaling when the mast is extended, two portable power generators (2 and 14 kVA), a system of cameras and a weather station. An aluminium ladder mounted at the back of a vehicle, on the right side provide an access to a functional roof. A satellite aerial and an aluminium box for small equipment is installed on the roof.
